M40 // Third Print

$350.00

My son spotted the remains of this buck half submerged in the water on the far side of the quarry behind our house. We hiked around, dragged him out of the water, and buried him under some leaves so nature could do its thing. Over the months that followed, nature also did its thing on the world. The pandemic showed us how fragile and unpredictable life is. It forced many of us to take stock, reprioritize, and make the difficult—and sometimes heart-wrenching—decisions necessary to reinvent our lives.

While the theme is ubiquitous, this was originally a 40th birthday present for someone who fought their way to the other side. The M is their first initial and the 4 battle stripes represent their 4 decades of life. I never met them in person but they do own the first print. Second print sold at auction at my kids’ school.

2022 / Stockton, NJ

The frame is made from an old stock of rough sawn tongue and groove pine that was left over from a barn renovation in Pipersville, PA.

Giclee print on velvet fine art paper: 10.125” X 10.125”

Frame Size: 12.5” X 12.5”
